Essential Information for Receiving Your Order

We understand that receiving your new Italian Terrace pots is an exciting moment, and we want to ensure their journey to your garden is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Our commitment to quality extends beyond the clay, ensuring the safe and thoughtful delivery of your pieces.

Please take a moment to review the details below, which will help us coordinate a successful arrival.

Should you require additional services or have custom requests, please do contact us and we can help.

Delivery Vehicle & Method

Our dedication to the safe transport of your pots requires a specific approach, with certain elements to be considered by yourself before we arrive.

Standard method

Our standard service is a one-man, curbside delivery using a tail-lift and a manual pallet or sack trolley.

Vehicle Size

Deliveries are typically made using a 3.5-tonne (3.5T) Luton van or a panel van, similar in size to a large commercial moving van.

Delivery Location

The driver will deliver to a hard, level surface on your driveway or at the roadside. This is essential for the safe operation of the tail-lift and trolley.

Manual Delivery Capabilities

While our driver is trained for careful handling, the weight of genuine terracotta dictates how far your pot can be safely moved beyond the curbside.

Small Pots (up to 25kg)

These pots can generally be hand-carried by the driver to a safe place immediately close to the delivery point.

Medium Pots (up to 75kg)

These heavier pieces can be moved by the manual trolley to a safe, level location close to the vehicle.

Large and Extra-Large Pots (over 75kg)

Due to their significant weight, these items are restricted to a curbside delivery only. For these grand pieces, please arrange assistance on your end for final placement.

Driver Access & Placement

To ensure the safety of both our driver and your pots, there are a few important guidelines for final placement:

Safe Placement

A safe, level space should be available for the pots to be placed without the need for stacking. The driver will place the pots in the nearest safe location on your property accessible by trolley.

Restrictions

Our drivers cannot enter a building or carry pots up or down steps. Access should be entirely obstacle-free.

Special Delivery Requirements

We appreciate that sometimes a standard service doesn’t quite meet your needs. We are happy to arrange special requirements for an additional fee.

Alternative Options

This includes requests for Saturday deliveries, specific timed delivery windows, the arrangement of a second man for extremely heavy items or difficult access, or Express Delivery for urgent orders.

Surcharges

Please note that surcharges apply for all special delivery requests. Contact us to discuss your needs and receive a quote.

Checking Your Delivery

The final and most crucial step is ensuring your pots have arrived in perfect condition.

Check at Delivery

Please check your pots at the time of delivery against your delivery note.

Inspection Methods

We recommend a visual inspection, and for ultimate peace of mind, perform a ‘ring test’—a gentle tap that should produce a clear, bell-like sound, confirming the integrity of the terracotta.

If You Spot a Problem

If you notice any damage, report it to the driver immediately—they will contact us directly.

If You Cannot Sign for the Pots

If you cannot be present to sign for the delivery, you must notify us before delivery to arrange an ‘Authority to Leave’.

Proof of Delivery (POD)

The driver will take a photo POD (Proof of Delivery) showing the pots safely placed.

Extended Check Period

We will grant you an additional 24 hours to check the delivery.

Final Checks

Please ensure you have received everything (including pot feet and drainage liners).

Reporting Damage

If you find any problem, you must photograph the damage and email us immediately. Crucially, do not move the damaged pot until you have contacted us.

A smooth delivery is our priority. If you have any outstanding questions, specific access concerns, or require special arrangements (such as a delivery window or extra assistance), please contact us immediately.

Unfortunately, failure to notify us of requirements or difficulties beforehand may result in delays and additional surcharges. Our team is here to help ensure a seamless arrival for your timeless terracotta.
